CANDAC Student-Researchers Atmospheric Collaboration

CANDAC (Canadian Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Change) researchers have teamed up with students and staff at schools in Ontario and Nunavut to launch a new project that encourages young people to become active researchers who monitor atmospheric conditions using scientific instruments at their school. Researchers and students work together to gather, compare and analyse data to better understand the current state of Earth's dynamic atmosphere.

Earth Day with Mrs. Demarco's Grade 2 Students and The Lorax!

The Grade 2 students were very excited to participate in Earth day activities. They read the story "The Lorax" and wrote about what they would do to help the Earth if they were the Lorax. The students wrote and shared some very thoughtful and Earth friendly ideas. I think the best part of the day for the students was making their own Lorax moustache and getting to wear it all day.

Thanks Grade 2s for sharing your fabulous Earth Day activity with us! Your plan to use both sides of your paper is great way of conserving our natural resources! We have our printer set to print on both sides of the paper too. Every little bit helps!
